Elyse Friedman's most recent book is Long Story Short, a novella and stories. She has written two novels,Then Again and Waking Beauty, and the poetry collection, Know Your Monkey. Then Again was a finalist for the 2000 Trillium Book Award, and the short story "The Soother" won the Gold National Magazine Award for Fiction in 2006. Friedman was born in Toronto.
